Cosmic Scene Changes

The Orion Nebula
The Orion Nebula is a 'happening' place where stars are born and this colony of hot, young stars is stirring up the cosmic scene in this image from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. The young stars dip and peak in brightness; shifting cold and hot spots on the stars' surfaces cause brightness levels to change. Spitzer is keeping tabs on the young stars, providing data on their changing ways. The hottest stars in the region are the Trapezium cluster.

Meditation on Change:

This image was taken after Spitzer's liquid coolant ran dry in May 2009, marking the beginning of its "warm" mission.  This was definitely a change for the way the Spitzer Space Telescope was going to operate.  At the same time star surface's changed with shifting cold and hot spots.....

Like the Spitzer Telescope and the stars we sometimes have little control over when a change will occur or what the change will be.  Change is the event that rocks your life; transition is the passage, the becoming, the time when you must learn how to be this new person that has been forced upon you as a result of whatever has caused the change.  Transition means coming to terms with the new reality. We have no say in some of the changes in our life.  We do have a choice in how we transition in the new world we find our selves.  Change is an opportunity to explore our connections with the universe.  It is an opportunity to re frame our ideas and sense of who we are...

The one thing we know, is like the cosmos, change in our lives is inevitable.  Managing transition is the key to evolving into the souls we are meant to be.

  1. In both the Universe and our lives change is inevitable. This process often produces crisis and in our case fear. But the Universe somehow provides. Alone in its beauty the first flower unfurled and transformed the world.
